Unexpected visit by the Siblings

Late evening, the 2 siblings came to visit me.
They are still young, so they rather stand outside of my empty-neighbour house than standing directly infront of my gate.

And why do I say it?

Because my uncle was at outside and shouted:
"Hey Jocelyn, your friends came to visit you!"

I looked out... saw no-one but my uncle.

He shouted again and finally I went out and spot the two human creatures:)

Well, the 2 siblings were my daycare tuition students for 2 months last year. It's nice that we can click immediately. Not really. Initially, it was hard because I still did not know their behavior yet.

After getting to know them as time goes by, I treated them with different personalities based on their behavior. Everyone is different and things would never work if we treated everyone the same way. I realize that we must be flexible.

Anyway, the brother praised my cookies! Nice but I felt shy too:)

It was nice to see them again.

Another night filled with laughter at the Library with 13-years-friends

"See you in February!"
That's the last thing my friend said when they visited me at home...after my surgery in December.

"Wanna join us at the Library at 9p.m"
A message sent by another friend yesterday, when I was at home.

I was excited and looking forward to go out, although it was only 6pm when the message reached my phone. Because I did not have idea what to wear since my cousins kept calling me 'Aunty' nowadays. Anyway, when the clock strikes 9, all of us gathered at The Library.

It was nice to meet them again, see their faces, see the change in them...although there was hardly any change in us...yet. The only change was one of them stays permanently in Australia now and going back in 2 weeks time.

So we were planning to order food and there ordered Pizza which is temporarily a 'No-No' in my food list. Thank God my buddies understand me, never say anything when I ate Oat Cookies first.

As usual, there was too much laughter filled in the air like July. One girl's husband tagged along like old buddies. One boy's girlfriend clicked immediately like awesome buddies. So, that was a nice night with laughter and some heart-to-heart talk.

Awesome because all of us loves taking pictures. We love the camera. 8out of 8 of us. 100% of us:)

Happy Birthday, Leng Lui Adeline. 

Actually, I never realize that 201314 brings such a special meaning for people who understand Mandarin.
I just remember 4th January is my dearest best friend's birthday....until

I intepret 201314 in Mandarin. Ahh, 201314 means 'ai ni yi sheng yi si' which means love you forever.

I am so happy that we both were the new students back in 2001. We have been friends for 12 years!  Luckily we both still live in Malacca and that's why I get to hang out with you and the buddies whenever we are free.

You are a sweet and kind person. I like your style. You are so brave and never afraid to speak up.

I appreciate our friendship. The 5H-6H buddies forever.

It's quite early for me to wish you but I can't stop my heart from wishing you.

Cindy dearie, it had been like months since we last met, talked and laughed. Somehow, time is not a barrier and distance makes the heart grows fonder.

You are awesome, no. You are mega-super-totally AWESOME! Why this girl is awesome?

1. She never look down on the 'beginner' of Toastmasters members.
When I first attended University Toastmasters Club as a freshman student, she came late. When she opened her mouth, giving evaluation. I was stunned. Cindy Hiew becomes my IDOL, it was shocked at first sight.

Cindy Hiew talks fast, talks like a world professional public speaker. Seriously, she is the first person I looked up to, wondering how Malaysia produced such a awesome speaker. I was like small cupcake, she was like the multilevel cake! But she still talks to me, never make me feel small.

2. She is very helpful
She may be straightforward when talking, but she gives useful tips and advices for us to improve.

Cindy, I was happy that I found out my weakness of talking fast, talking in unclear way but I did not know the way to improve till you said, "Try to read the word out one by one, slowly and clearly."

She boosts my confidence. Although there is still a long way for me to conquer the weakness, at least, I found a way to improve myself.


3.I love your laughter, smile and voice
She has gorgeous smile. Yes, I am lucky to have a gorgeous-smile-friend. She is always smiling and laughing. Even when I was not in the mood to laugh, looking at her makes me smile again.

She has great voice. I thought singing is just sing the song out till I heard her singing. She knows how to turn, twist the tune, pitch and dynamic of song. She sings with passion.  I wish she can teach me how to sing, one day.

Some of you expressed your inner feeling on facebook wall. I understand that you guys are doing your best for your final projects.

Please don't give up. You can get mad, you can say you are super stressed.
But please start your job with happy heart after releasing all your negative feeling.

Remember, you can control and decide your future. Don't let your 'stress' conquer you. You are the one to conquer the stress.

Good luck for your final project!

"I'd gone through 4 difficult semesters, this is just another mountain that I am going to climb to the peak of it!"

The night filled with laughter

"Go to school, talking to friends, gossiping, keeping abreast of the news of celebrities and finally sit for UPSR."

Those were the tasks of ours, those were the awesome moments that kept our day going on and on without feeling bored. Instead, we felt as if we were the birds flying in the sky. One word: FREEDOM! That happened 10 years ago.

Now, we are no longer children. Some of us are working, having awesome jobs. Some of us are still studying at tertiary education. We are no longer spending 24/7 together, like last time. So, we will make sure that we can meet at least once a year now.

Because of Facebook, my ex-classmates and I got to keep in touch, arranged our gathering time successfully in Facebook. By posting one message and invites people we want, everyone can see the latest updates and give comments and feedback. Also, we can remember the date we last went out together by 'checking-in' to the places.

Although there weren't lots of us last night, there are things I'd learned from the gathering and to be refreshed right now.

1. Always get yourself ready before your friends call

-Most of the time, our friends will call us or text us when they are coming to fetch us. So, I love to take my old sweet time to get myself ready.

Luckily, I get myself ready an hour earlier last night. My friends did not send me a message. Instead, they were already in front of my house, waiting for me. Fortunately, I was all ready to go out!

2. Always pay attention when your friends are talking

-Our most expressionless friend is the one who pays most attention when we are talking, although he seems like he does not bother to listen to us.

Last night, one of our friends were asking another friend:

" How many cars does your family have?"

"One car A, another car B, there is one car C, there is one more car D, there is one more car E." answered the girl.

So, our expressionless friend said:

"You have endless 'one-more'. There are altogether 5 cars."

Haha.

3. Don't pause too long during a conversation

-When one of them was trying to lie, he did not give a false answer. Instead, he paused for more than 2 minutes before one of the friend's husband interrupted:

"Don't wait for him to answer because all of you will never get an answer until tomorrow."

Still, we did not get an answer from him last night. :)

We are looking forward to the next meeting before few of us are leaving Malacca in September.

It was a nice calm gathering last night.
