My DIY Pop Up Card to an Aunt

I am thankful that she gave me a golden chance to be one of the assistant teachers in her learning centre.

It was my last day on Saturday. It was fun to be the assistant teacher. It felt weird to teach, mark and record things at the same time. But it is an awesome experience.

To thank her for giving me the 2-week-chance there, I made my own card.

There are 2 websites that inspire me to design this card:

Happy Birthday, Faiz!

Happy happy birthday, Faiz!

source: Faiz Facebook Page

You are a 22-year-old Faiz now. Lots of people keep saying that the clock is moving faster than we can imagine. I thought it was just a 'hearsay' until I have to admit it now.

I am lucky to get to know you, be your classmate for 2 years from 2008-2009. Whoa! Rethink, most of us do not meet each other for 3 years already.

What I think about you?

1. Man, you are tall!
You was one of the tallest guy in the class. It's kinda irritating to talk to you because I must lift my head. I am just kidding, don't angry okay.

2. We often miscalled you Hafiz
When we see you, we call you Hafiz. When we see Hafiz, we call him Faiz! Even though we spent 2 years in the class. I guess you know the 'we'-the girls in the class. Oopz!

3. You are funny
You have the big smile on your face. Seriously, I'd never see you get mad before in the class because you keep bringing your smiley face to school!

Most of us will 'terus' remember your smile if we mention your name.

4. You are Honest
You just love to 'comment' everything you see or you think instead of telling white lies. I remembered you keep teasing Tammie and I as 'Paparazzi'. Don't worry, we did not get mad at all.

You are a good friend, Faiz.
Happy Big Birthday and may all your wishes come true.

With us in Tampin

Granduncle with the grandkids
It was sort of a sudden plan to pay a visit to our dearest granduncle. Usually, we will think of visiting him during the weekend. So, really, Thursday is a 'sudden plan' with our cousin rushing to our house right after his presentation in university and my sister taking a-day-leave....

And we finally started our journey to visit the Granduncle in Tampin.

He is a close granduncle because we always meet him since we were young. I remembered he used to visit us in Johor Bahru, along with his both sisters (one of them is my late grandmother). We went to shopping mall, waiting for someone to drive us back. It happened more than 10 years ago...

When we visited him last Thursday, his mind was still very alert although he is 87 years old now. We, the younger generations lose to him seriously. The way he talked, the way he expressed his opinion, the way he told us the old stories before we were born really impressed us. He is a natural speaker, natural person with absolutely natural vocal variety.

He was the one who used to call me Rainbow because my Chinese name is Rainbow. There are few times he kept saying my name sounded like a guy, sometimes. It had been more than a year since he met some of us. Thus, he could not recognize us. He thought I am my cousin's friend. We changed, our face feature changed, according to him.

He is still our awesome granduncle who still able to make some jokes during our trip to Tampin.

We took the chance to take pictures on top of the hill.

The short-trip to Tampin is wonderful.
Family is forever. We do not ask for it, we are blessed to be part of them.

She came to Malacca...

It was an unpredictable trip to Malacca. She was supposed to come to Malacca like, 2 months ago but her trip was cancelled.

Never did I imagine that we get to meet up again in my hometown after 'stop seeing' each other in 3D world for 6 months.
Within the 6 months, we saw each other through the 2D screen-webcam:)

We met at Nadeje, Plaza Mahkota. That was the first time I went to the cafe because usually I go to the cafe located in Dataran Pahlawan or Mahkota Parade. Luckily, she saw me the moment I stepped into the beautiful cafe.
Time does move like a racing car. She mentioned that I was thinner compared to 6 months ago. I wished she saw me 2 months ago because I was thin-er. We talked lots and reminisced the wonderful memories staying in the university hostel.

Somehow, we felt kind of sad because our another lovely roommate is coming next week, not this week. Else, we can gather and have lots of fun together since I will not be going back for this semester.

You know, it had been like 6 months since we took picture together. That's very exciting and awesome to capture pictures again, with this young lady named Hui San.

I am looking forward to meet Yong next week.
