2012 Is My Thankful Year

Google image

I am the world biggest liar if I can list down every single event, things that happen in 2012. I can't remember all of them, somehow I can describe my 2012 feeling in one word: Thankful.

The beginning of the year was kind of weird. I was all alone, hiding my feeling. How did I manage to do it? Well, I just split myself into 2 world. That's how I can hide my feeling so long until everything burst like a balloon, one day.

I am thankful to meet so many group of people this one year. From March until December, I exposed to so many different people from different races, religions and background. I also feel thankful to have old and new loved ones come into my life this year.

That's why I never think that my life is terrible because I am thankful for everything that happened, every person that opened my eyes, lend me their hands, showered me with love and cares.

I recalled one of the friends from university told me this:
"There are 2 groups of people in our life: One who support us and one who dislike what we do, but this is the nature of life."

... and his name is Toh Soon.
I did not think this is a useful sentence until it does apply in my life, including in the life of some new friends.

We are going to say "Adios" to 2012 soon tonight. It's my most wonderful year in my life.
How do you feel about your 2012 life?

Applying Ashely Banjo's Secret Street Crew knowledge in Daily Life, that's the secret!

What I love about watching the television? Those reality shows that project the story of ordinary human beings, not only the superstars.
At least, those shows tell me that, 'uncelebrities' also dare to talk, act and sing in front of the camera. Amazing!

Two days ago, I watched Ashley Banjo's  Secret Street Crew for the first time. Ahh, I could not take my eyes off the show and him. Man, he is so confident and handsome and tall. He is Awesome! Now I will tell you why he and Secret Street Crew is awesome...

Google: Ashley's SSC

Ashley is an English street dance and choreography of the dance group Diversity who won Britain's Got Talent in 2009. That's not the climax of it...

In Ashley's Secret Street Crew, he wants to show the world that English people can dance too. He did his homework. He walks the talks because he is showing us that, nothing is impossible. He gives hope to the normal people who wants to dance like him.

Google: The Role Players with Ashley in the middle

1. Believe in yourself
One guy did not dare to "SAY HIS NAME OUT LOUD" during their warm up session. After knowing that he hardly expressed himself in front of his loved one, Ashley suggested him to sing for the intro of their dance song. That's how he began to know people loved his voice.

Another guy was single because he has no confidence. Weird because he was handsome, you know. When he participated in this reality show, his self esteem increased and he had the guts to date a girl, finally.

2. Be serious in everything
"Practice makes perfect". Practice without teamwork does not make the dance perfect.

Some of the dancers did not come for the rehearsal. They just missing in action for few sessions of the rehearsal. When they finally danced together, things became better. Everything became much better when they found time to practice dancing at home, by watching their own dance video recorded in the studio.

3. Think of solution, quick
Ashley knew things will get worsen if the team did not want to cooperate. One day, he brought the guys to the street, let them show-off their dancing skills. It was not that good because there was no teamwork. But that's how he wanted the guys to know what was their weakness and to improve!

He knew one of them has zero confidence, so he let that guy record his voice for the beginning of their dancing song. That's how this MR.GUY started to love his own voice.

Look for Children's clothes online? Come to Premier Baby Kids Heaven!

Online shopping is so famous and ubiquitous nowadays. It's awesome because the samples of clothes are uploaded in different albums according to the month or season of clothes.

Whenever we want to see the clothes clearly, we can view larger picture by clicking on the clothes images. Even if we are unsure whether we can fit into those tops and bottoms, we can measure our own body type first. It's simply easy!

You know, Chinese New Year is just around the corner. It's going to be the first Chinese New Year for Max. Chinese New Year is wonderful, but it will be more wonderful if Max wears Traditional Chinese Costume to increase the awesome atmosphere of Chinese New year.

I'd been many places, finding for the suitable one for him but I almost gave up till I came across this website: Premier Baby Kids Heaven. That's not the end of the story. And then I found this Chinese Costume. Guess what? Mummy gave her reality FACEBOOK like immediately.

It took about 3 weeks for my costume to arrive. It was in good condition when I first reached out for it from the hand of the Pos Laju Brother. It's nice, the traditional costume is awesome, it was love at first sight. Oh hey, it's still in good condition.

How's the service? Wonderful! Beautiful! Amazing!
I am talking about the lady boss. Although that was the first time I ordered something from her, she talked to me nicely. She is friendly and humble. She makes the customers feel comfortable. One word to describe her: Awesome!

It arrived 3 weeks later.

I am thankful to find Premier Baby Kids Heaven.

I believe you are the angel sent from UTC, Pretty Cindy.

Happy Big Birthday In Advance, Pretty Lady.
It's quite early for me to wish you but I can't stop my heart from wishing you.

Cindy dearie, it had been like months since we last met, talked and laughed. Somehow, time is not a barrier and distance makes the heart grows fonder.

You are awesome, no. You are mega-super-totally AWESOME! Why this girl is awesome?

1. She never look down on the 'beginner' of Toastmasters members.
When I first attended University Toastmasters Club as a freshman student, she came late. When she opened her mouth, giving evaluation. I was stunned. Cindy Hiew becomes my IDOL, it was shocked at first sight.

Cindy Hiew talks fast, talks like a world professional public speaker. Seriously, she is the first person I looked up to, wondering how Malaysia produced such a awesome speaker. I was like small cupcake, she was like the multilevel cake! But she still talks to me, never make me feel small.

Google: Cindy is multilevel cake, I am a smallcupcake

2. She is very helpful
She may be straightforward when talking, but she gives useful tips and advices for us to improve.

Cindy, I was happy that I found out my weakness of talking fast, talking in unclear way but I did not know the way to improve till you said, "Try to read the word out one by one, slowly and clearly."

She boosts my confidence. Although there is still a long way for me to conquer the weakness, at least, I found a way to improve myself.

3.I love your laughter, smile and voice
She has gorgeous smile. Yes, I am lucky to have a gorgeous-smile-friend. She is always smiling and laughing. Even when I was not in the mood to laugh, looking at her makes me smile again.

She has great voice. I thought singing is just sing the song out till I heard her singing. She knows how to turn, twist the tune, pitch and dynamic of song. She sings with passion.  I wish she can teach me how to sing, one day.

Cindy Facebook

I am so thankful that I come to Sabah, come to UTC and get to know you.
I believe, you are the angel sent from UTC, to brighten up my life.

Cindy, Happy Birthday in Advance:)

The Xmas Home Caroling, I witnessed in 3D world, for the first time:)

"Oh, that's Xmas home caroling."
"So many people singing, playing guitar and singing."
"It must be wonderful."

Those are my thoughts when I watched it from a projector, in a 2D world for the first time, last year. Yes, 2D world that I could never use my hand to touch it, and feel it but to play with my imagination.

I am lucky enough to get to witness it in the 3Dimensional World on last Wednesday at my aunt's new place. There was a Santa Claus too!

I have a wonderful friend called Carol. I know that the atmosphere where people who sing Christmas song called Caroling. Now, I only know that caroling is meant to promote happiness, good will and friendship.

Apart from singing among themselves, they too, invited the guests to dance with them. Awesome. Besides, my aunt also prepared lots of food for them to eat, after singing session ended. Mega Awesome.

That was a super awesome day.
How can I not capture the awesome moment to share with everyone:)

Oh Look, Yours truly and her cousin can't leave the Christmas Tree:)

Brother and our cousin were not in the mood for 'say chesse'
Cousin, CUTE!

Woohoo, Firework from other side!

They are coming:)

Wonderful moment

The Santa loved the camera:)

Upside down rainbow? Because it's colourful...

"Cai Hong" called by my teacher when I was in standard 4.

My heart pound a couple of mile an hour because I knew, teacher was going to comment on my broken essay.
I did not need to have 6th sense to sense her, because she was marking our essay book!

"Hey look! It's Cai Hong out there!" shouted by one of my classmates!
That classmate indirectly became the captain of ant, where us, the army of ants had our eyes glued directly to the direction of the Cai Hong appeared.
*Cai Hong means rainbow in Mandarin*.

My teacher was looking at the rainbow too, so I was so ,very lucky to escape from her scolding session!

This is how my name saved me from being scolded by my teacher.
Why?
Because everyone, including our teacher quickly ran out from the class, and some of them even took a picture with the huge and colorful upside down smile-Rainbow.

I spent eyes to figure out, understand why rainbow makes our day, makes us smile without any reason. I was probably going to go crazy for thinking and thinking and thinking.

Today, I am so glad that I find the answer to my undiscovered-problem-which-I-want-to-solve:
Rainbow is awesome because it's very colourful.

Even, Barney and his friends used to sing:"Colors make me happy, everywhere I go..."
Yes, Barney was telling us that colour makes him happy!

Google: Colors make them happy!

I can't resist the temptation of looking at Katy Perry because of her colorful costumes for her concert performance. See, it's all about color again!

Google: Katy Perry's colorful costume.

The Malaysian's Women's Weekly's December 2012 issue also include a story of a pair of designers couple named Pan Gang and Myriam colour their house with colourful furnitures to boost the creativity in their sons!

Colorful place to live.

Rainbow has upside down smile, but it's wonderful colours capture the heart of human beings in this world.

Latest rainbow outside of my house.

Colours make Barney, Katy Perry and the family of Pan Gang happy.

Most importantly, it brought me back to my childhood memory land, never forget my friends whenever I see rainbow.

Sunday Sea

"Where to go for breakfast?" dad asked us this morning.

We had been going to the same coffee shop for months so it felt awesome to visit another old food court near to a temple this morning.

As usual,a typical food court is a noisy place. The noise did not irritate my ear because that's where people love to gather on Sunday morning. It sounded more like a nice noise.

The sound of a pair of fork and spoon, the chopping noise of people chopping the chicken for chicken rice, the laughter of human beings filled the atmosphere.

They tried to make me go to rehab but I said 'no,no,no'
Yes I've been black but when I come back you'll know know know

That's Adele's voice, I thought for the first time.
Rehab? that's the song of the late Amy Winehouse.

There were few songs of her airing on the radio player again and again. Awesome. Food court mixed with the modern song of the world. No doubt, Amy Winehouse's melodies are catch-able.

The staffs were hardworking. From preparing the toast bread to cooking the meal, they seemed fast like a battery which was fully charged. It can be mentally and physically tired for them, but that did not stop them from running their business on weekend. Weekend? The week I am so looking forward to have a big rest.

It's good to wake up early on a Sunday morning, sitting at a coffee shop, eating with your family.
One week once, we can find the time to do it.

The crowded place

Here's how "you are so thin now!" healthy tips

Lately, almost everyone of my friends will enlarge their eyes, never fail to say:
"Why are you so thin now?"
"Kamu semakin kurus, Jo."

Last night, I went to the temple with my family and the aunty kept staring at me, smiling endlessly.
"Hmm??" I asked because curiosity took over me.
"Now, you body balance. Last time, your shoulder very big. Now, balance already." she smiled and replied.

Let me share with you the secret tips. It's not that secretive anyway.
Since I am one of the gallstones lucky winners , there is food that I will say 'no' to prevent gallstones attacking me again and again.

The pain is like the hammer, punching through my body and bones over and over again, followed by big needles poke on my front and back bones for hours!

To choose between Pain and Food, I will sacrifice myself from eating food that trigger the pain like egg, cream, cheese and so forth.

Here's how I replace my favorite food with healthy food that taste and look almost identical to it. *All pictures are taken from Google*

I replace my fillet burger with steamed fish
I replace chocolate cookies with cream crackers
I replace chocolate drinks with Milo-O
I replace fried chicken with steamed chicken
I replace full cream milk with soya bean

I eat healthily to prevent the pain from coming everytime. It does reduce the number of times my gallstones occur.

All of you can try this tips too!:)

The MCG: The Most Cooperative Gang

Whenever I saw a car with a car license plate that starts with M, followed by C and lastly by G, it seemed like a hammer was knonking on my forehead, telling me it was pronounced as MCG.

Google Source:Car license plate with MCG

MCG? My course in UMS?
I was immediately immersed myself into the world of Mathematics with Computer Graphics, the awesome moment as a proud MCG member.

This world is funny. I feel more closer to them now than last time. I never thought they will lend me their hand, shower everyone with love and support when one of the members faced problem in life.

They are like the door, give me a chance to open the door without locking it, so that I am able to put my faith in them, trust them as a friend.

They make me realize that, it's not that bad to take the first baby step to trust a person.
They make me understand that, we will get help when we ask for it, instead of closing our golden mouth.

I miss everyone of you!

I wish I was there:)

Yong *left*: The best MCG girl I met:)

Trust me, without the support and trust from all of you, I will never stand up again, strongly like now:)

To the final year students,
I believe you can do your best and show your every charm on the stage for FYP presentation,
just like how all of you show your magical side of being an awesome friend in real life.

Happy Big Day to the girl who taught me Sompoton- Madona James

She is the first person I got clicked on when we were attending the first ever meeting at music club, as a freshman student in Universiti Malaysia Sabah.

2 years ago, that's the year we both met for the first time unexpectedly. Music brought us together, music brought me to know this beautiful lady!

Her name is Madona. One thing that I must tell everyone here, Sabah's ladies are beautiful and awesome! They are very lemah-lembut which I need a long time to be like them.

Obviously, she is a Sabahan beautiful lady.

Madona loves to smile and makes jokes.
Sometimes I faced difficult moment in school, when I bumped into her in the library, she made my day. Gosh, she is the person I will hug whenever we meet. She will make the first step to hug me too!

Madona is so helpful.
When we started to learn Sompoton, one of the musical instruments made from Sabah. Everyone blew it wonderfully, except me!

I can never get the right technique. Instead of doing her stuff, she kept teaching me for hours in the class until the end of the class.

Madona is a fashionista.
Her hairstyle, her dressing style, her looks show and tell everything!

I love this picture of yours, dearie

Happy Big day on 12-12-12. Miss you.
You are my best friend, always.

You are one of the reasons I love Sabah:)

Psy, do you know what happened in the restaurant?

Once upon a time,
My eyes were glued on the screen of the television. This video caught my attention immediately. How can I describe it? It was totally Love at First Sight!

This video clip is super funny!
Look at the small boy. He is so cute and man, he can dance so good!
Look at the big guy [PSY], he is so funny!

Love at first sight when I watched this part.

Oh yes, there were so many comments and feedback in my mind ever since I watched it the first time. The next day, only I know it was the song almost the whole world is talking about: Gangnam Style!

Lately, Psy's Gangnam Style has brighten up the world's life.

You know what happened in the restaurant few days ago?
Gangnam style was aired on television in a restaurant few days ago.

Some adult customers stopped holding the spoon. Their eyes and mouth were widen, as thought they were immersed in the GANGNAM world immediately. *including my dad and I* like this:

Our eyes were widen, we were really drown into the Gangnam video.
A man even dropped his spoon and fork from the table because he could not take his eyes off the screen. Awesome and unbelievable.

His song influences the children to get their butt off the chair, dance on the floor of the restaurant whenever his video clip is aired on the big screen of television.
At least, this is good, giving time for the parents to exhale the noisy air produced by the children.

Awesome children, awesome dance

Psy, your song had created lots of happy and weird atmosphere at the restaurant.

People dropped their spoons.
People's eyes getting bigger.
People danced with your music.

Happy Birthday, Senorita Tracie:)

Picture: Tracie Facebook
Feliz Cumpleanos, Tracie.
It's your birthday.

I still remember the first time I saw you in 2010.

"She looks like my cousin. Or is she my cousin?"
"Gosh, this chica is so alta!"
[chica=girl  and alta=tall]

So many question marks running on my head although, that was the first time I met you. Crazy? Yes I am:)

I am so grateful to meet you, to know you in my life. I love your smile, you are so happy-go-lucky. You are so tall and pretty.

I am so thankful that you did not neglect me although most of the friends in University Toastmasters Club left after their graduation. We still hang out together and enjoyed a whale of time with food!:)

You are so brave! You know how to impersonate yourself when it comes to humour session in the meeting. I cannot forget how you impersonate those Sepanyol styles and accents like, a year ago?

I wish you all the best in your life.
Miss you, chica:)

"Sometime, it's Ok to unwrap a present instantly"

Ever since I was a little girl, my family taught me this: Never ever unwrap a present straight on the spot. In another word, it is better to unwrap the present in a place when, there is no one there to look at us.

Yesterday was my last day working as a teacher assistant and a daycare tuition teacher.

My 2 students handed me 2 lovely presents. Another teacher also received a lovely present from them. One of them asked me to unwrap it immediately. Really, I was shocked because I thought it was not good to do so, especially infront of the person who gave me a wonderful present.

I rejected for few times.

Then this 9-year-old boy said, "Teacher, why you do not want to open it?!"
I replied:"Because I felt shy to do it."

He explained: "We did that whenever there is occasion in my place. That's when my aunt and uncle can capture the process of us, unwrapping the presents."

Student and teacher.
Teacher Jojo. That's me:)
First time, having a picture of me unwrapping present. Amazing experience!
Lovely dolphins. Thank you student:)

You are right, too. I thought. He opened my eyes, exposed me to the fact that, we too can do something out of the box, sometimes.

I also 'unshy' to unwrap another present which I received from a 13-year-old student.
Why I do not feel ashamed? Because she is his big sister.:)

Gonna miss them oh:)
Teenagers love to show lots facial expression when taking pictures.
crystal!:)

They are young but they taught me lots of undiscovered knowledge. The boy is good in fixing robot and Lego. The girl is talented in arts and writing.

I am so thankful to meet them in 2012:)

Husband and Wife Look Alike?

Teaching job is fun and challenging at the same time. There is no escape for the teachers to look at some parents who look like siblings due to their looks.

Really, some of us even do our 'own' survey and found out that there are more than 5 pairs of the parents who do included in the group of 'husband and wife look alike'.

According to Philippe Rushton, a psychologist at the University of Western Ontario, marrying someone who looks almost similar to you can ensure "your own segment of the gene pool is safely maintained and transmitted to the future generations."

One of the students has his father's gorgeous smile.

"His mother's smile is the same too", said a colleague of mine.
"Does that mean his daddy looks similar to his wife?", I asked her instantly.
It was true, they both do look alike.
*That was just one of the many cases happen in the workplace.*

It is amazing that there are so many students' parents look alike in the kindergarten. Besides, one of the many pairs of celebrity couple that shares the similar face features is:

Leann Rimes and Eddie Cibrian
Miss Rimes' eyes are so unique. I always think she has this unique yet natural look. I did not think someone will have the similar Rimes Look in this world.

When I came across a picture of Leann Rimes and Eddie Cibrian, I was stunned because they look alike. I was shocked and still shocked, you know?

What do you think of people who share the same look as their significant other?

The Deeper Side of a Concert

Awesome time: 10-11-2012

"Awwh, how cute they are!"
"They dance so good!"
"Look at their clothes, where can we find same clothes for so many children!"

Those are the thoughts that running in my head whenever I saw cute children performed and danced on the stage for their graduation concerts...

Till I was finally given a chance to get involve and told myself there were more to learn, more to know from the concert experience in one month time.

1. We have to take good care of our voice all the time
Because the backstage is filled with voices and shout of the children, the teachers must raise the voice in order to understand what the other teachers are talking.

"Give me a pen!"
"Did you see XXX students!?"
"They want to go to the toilet!"
"Quick, change the students' clothes!"

You see, if the teachers do not take care of the voice, we going to repeat same phrase again and again, and it is going to waste lots of time since time is golden.

2. Be alert
Children who are giving speeches will  have microphones as an aid in order for the audiences to hear them talking.

Somehow, I learn one thing: We must be alert in moving the microphones away after the speeches come to an halt so that they do not disturb the dance performances.

3. There is no time to take pictures at backstage
The time flies because we are so busy to make sure everything run smoothly on that day.
There is hardly a time for us to sit down, to take a breath.

Well, we can finally do it right after the end of the concert. So yeah, there is time for us to take pictures at backstage when everything comes to a fullstop.

4. Know the parents
First Rule: Know the parents.
Second Rule: Follow first rule

Because the backstage is too small to fit in every single students when 'clothes changing' take place, so some of the students are given back to their parents temporarily after they perform their last dance, before going on stage again to sing group songs.

That is the time we need to make sure who are their parents to ensure they do not follow strangers home. Some of them look exactly like their parents' face, so that's going to be much easier for us to identify their parents, too.

My Second Surprise in a week. Whoa!

mcD glass from the student
Ever since I was a child, I had zero confidence in myself. Zero, it is a fact. No matter what I did, there seemed that , there were a soft yet powerful inner voice told me that , "I can never do things right."

In my 22 years' life, I always admire and look up to people, instead of telling myself, I can show the achievement to myself too. I was silly? Yes I was.

In this one year, things happened and I view life from 4 different angle of camera. Awesome? Yes, it is because I realize that when we feel confident, we can perform our task with awesome heart in reality world.

Today, my students gave me the mcD glass by surpirse. Of course, I was delighted because I never thought that I am in their heart, as a teacher. Last week, I was given 2 awesome pens by a kindergarten student.

It is a blessing because I wished that I got a chance to teach the small children or giving tuition lessons to primary school students. Never did I imagine that I can kill two birds with a stone this time.

I am thankful. Life is great, depends on how you view and react to the situation.

El regalo de una estudiante

Una estudiante de 6 anos dio regalos a las profesoras la semana pasada.
Estoy muy contenta.

Este es mi regalo de primer de profesora. Esta una bendicion de Dios.
